Fans of Emmerdale may recall Syd Woolfe from way back in 2002.

One of Syd’s initial plots after arriving in the Dales involved a love triangle with Scott Windsor (Ben Freeman) and Chloe Atkinson (Amy Nuttall).

He also collaborated with Jerry “Mack” MacKinley (Rob Dixon), and he captivated a number of women in the community, notably Nicola Blackstock and Angie Reynolds (Freya Copeland) (Nicola Wheeler).

What happened to Syd in Emmerdale?

From 2002 to 2004, Syd spent two years working in Emmerdale.

After falling in love with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), Syd was given the choice of accepting a job offer in Manchester or staying.

He confessed his affections to Chas, but when she rejected him, he made the decision to leave.

He said a sorrowful goodbye to Chas and then headed off for Manchester.

Who played Syd Woolfe in Emmerdale?

After being cast as Syd in Emmerdale in 2002, Nathan Gladwell.

The actor left for a vacation in New Zealand the day he learned he had to start, and he returned the next day.

They e-mailed the script to him, and he said, “I flew home, jet-lagged to hell, and started my first day at Emmerdale.

“I had trouble keeping my eyes open, had no idea what day it was, and was given control of this extremely lethal weapon. I didn’t have my best moment.”

Speaking candidly about his persona, Nathan added: “No matter how nice of a mate you were, you could never leave Syd in the house with your lady because he would be trying it on like crazy. He is likable, though. He’s not a person you despise.

“I was going to say that you wouldn’t trust him with your life, but in reality, you probably would – just not with your wife.”

“I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t been fun, But what can you do?” Nathan said in response to the news that his character would be leaving. You must simply move forward.
