Johnny Briggs’ ITV tribute is slammed by Charlie Lawson.

Charlie Lawson, who plays Jim McDonald on Coronation Street, has blasted ITV’s tribute to the late Johnny Briggs.

ITV aired Johnny Briggs: Coronation Street Legend on Monday night (March 29) as a tribute to the comedian, who died last month after a long illness.

The documentary screened in two episodes of the ITV soap Corrie and lasted 30 minutes.

Interviews with Johnny’s Corrie co-stars were included in the special, which also took viewers on a ride down memory lane, recalling some of his most memorable storylines.

Charlie, on the other hand, did not seem to be a fan of the show and expressed his displeasure on Twitter.

He wrote: “Half a bloody hour and no mention of his movie career, apart from some half-assed crap about Carry in movies. Very disappointing.”

From 1976 to 2006, Johnny Briggs portrayed Mike Baldwin on Coronation Street.

Mike had a series of lovers over the years. However, between 1982 and 1983, he had an affair with Deirdre Barlow, which became one of his most successful storylines.

Mike and Deirdre’s husband, Ken, established a symbiotic relationship. on the other hand, died in Ken’s arms in April 2006.

Mike, who has Alzheimer’s, had pneumonia and managed to get out of the hospital. Ken tracked him down outside the factory and attempted to assist him. Mike, on the other hand, suffered a heart attack and died in his arms.

Johnny starred in the TV series No Hiding Places from 1962 to 1966 before joining Coronation Street.

In 1969, he played Kerr in the film Freewheelers.

From 1971 to 1972, Johnny played Tippy The Tipster in Bright’s Boffins.

From 1972 to 1974, Johnny played Clifford Leyton in Crossroads: King Oaks.

During his career, he appeared in many films, including The Devil-Ship Pirates, Light Up The Sky, Some Girls Do, and Carry On Up the Khyber.

Johnny’s most recent TV appearance was in an episode of Doctors in 2009, in which he played John Cotham.

On ITV, Coronation Street airs at 7.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, with an hour-long episode at 7.30 p.m. on Fridays.
