ITV Emmerdale star Lisa Riley to ‘spill the tea’ on 30 year TV career and showbiz secrets

Lisa Riley, a legend of Emmerdale, is preparing to “spill the tea” on her career in show business as she makes her way back to the town she fell in love with while growing up in nearby Bury.

The Bolton Food and Drink Festival 2022 will feature a unique afternoon tea hosted by Mandy Dingle.

With a 30-year TV career and the role of ITV soap legend Mandy since 1995, Lisa is collaborating with Bolton’s Sushma Snacks to give fans the chance to hear some of her behind-the-scenes tales while they indulge on an Indian-inspired version of the British classic in the Victorian town hall.

The menu at Sushma has bhel, a popular Indian street food, masala chai scones, raspberry tart with custard, and mango cups with mint as well as spicy potato and chicken tikka sandwiches with edible spoons covered in crème cheese and smoked salmon.

The Bolton Food and Drink Festival, which is coming back for a 17th year, will change the town’s streets for four days during the August bank holiday weekend.

180 market stalls and dealers, celebrity chefs, cooking demos, comedic performances, street entertainers, live music, and kid-friendly activities will all be present.

Guests can take advantage of appearances by TV chefs The Hairy Bikers, Ainsley Harriott, and James Martin in addition to celebrating the best of Bolton and the surrounding Greater Manchester area.

Regarding the occasion, Lisa stated: “I spent a lot of time in the nearby town of Bolton while I was growing up in Bury and had a deep love for it. I can’t wait to see you all at my special afternoon tea with a twist! I’m so thrilled to be hosting it!”

Added her: “I’ll be spilling all of the beans on my thirty-year career working in TV while we enjoy in an Indian-inspired cuisine made by the wonderful Sushma Snacks, revealing some of my favorite on-set anecdotes and backstage secrets. Do not miss this opportunity!”

The Bolton Food and Drink Festival’s afternoon tea is a must-attend event, according to Bolton Council’s deputy leader Coun. Hilary Fairclough.

We are thrilled to have Lisa Riley join our all-star lineup for 2022 as the host of this one-of-a-kind event with a twist.

The August Bank Holiday Festival is just days away, and we’re working hard to make it the finest one yet. All of our events are designed to bring friends and family together to create priceless memories in the heart of Bolton.
