ITV Corrie’s Peter Barlow actor Chris Gascoyne makes rare appearance on evening out with co-stars
Chris Gascoyne, a star of Coronation Street, delighted fans by making a surprise appearance with a handful of his co-stars on a night out in Greater Manchester.
At the soap’s summer gala last month, the actor—best known for his role as Peter Barlow in the ITV drama—didn’t seem to be there.

Nevertheless, he continues to play a significant role in the Salford-based soap’s family and recently joined Millie Gibson, Samia Longchambon, Mikey North, Daniel Brocklebank, and a few other guests for a drink at a Media City quayside bar.
Daniel, who portrays Billy Mayhew in the venerable show, shared a photo of the group unwinding on the quayside as the sun started to drop on Instagram. He added a red love emoji to the post and stated, “These boys.”
Gareth Pierce, who plays Todd Grimshaw in Corrie, was among the first to reply, adding “Beauts” along with a heart-eyed emoji, a beer can, and a sun icon. This week marked the two-year anniversary of his on-screen debut.
The soap’s Kelly Neelan, played by Millie, added: “G orgeous lot,” while Samia, who plays Maria Windass, only added a heart and a happy face with heart eyes emoji.
Additionally, fans left comments, with @versace.the.afghanhound writing: “We adore each of you. (Even those faces we are unfamiliar with!)” “The dream team,” remarked @patlally1. “Must be fantastic to have workmates like these,” said @l sneddon.
In a 90-minute “Star Tours” version of the MediaCityUK set tour last month, Chris, who has played Peter on the cobblestones for more than 20 years, shocked spectators.
On the tour, visitors can say hello to a mystery cast member, hear about the filming process, and take pictures with them in addition to visiting the sites, such as Roy’s Rolls, Audrey’s hair salon, Weatherfield Police Station, and the fabled pub Rovers Return.
But until they get there, they have no idea who it is. The special excursions are taking place for the first time in two years as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, and Chris was the first to show up on them.
The Corrie icon entered the TV police station through the doors of the first of the limited edition, sold-out tours to greet fans. And Chris was welcomed with joyous claps, cheers, and “Peter” cries.
One of the actor’s 54 fans shouted, “You were the one we wanted.” He thanked them, “Aw, that’s wonderful.” He laughed and said, “I was just going to say I’m sorry Ken Barlow couldn’t be here.
He was also heard thinking back on his time working on the soap opera and how he got hired by Corrie to play Peter as the seventh actor.
He revealed to tour attendees that he was only supposed to appear in the production for six months at first. After breaking his ankle while performing in a play at the Royal Exchange Theatre, he was offered the part.
In the meantime, Daniel was just gushing about another co-star and off-screen friend Julia Goulding when he posted a photo with a handful of his co-stars.
The on-screen vicar and the Shona Platt actress were captured cuddling up for a selfie while out in nature. Dan remarked, “This one offers delight,” before including the hashtag “Camping Buddies.”
“Now there are two excellent faces,” Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah Habeeb in Corrie, responded. Soon after, admirers added their own remarks.
Verace the Afghan Hound commented: “Wow! Look at those happy faces!” These are two of my favorites, as @paulwaz68 remarked. I adore Shona have fun, @franceliafarrellanderson added as other users swamped the image with red hearts and happy face with heart-eyes emojis.
