ITV Coronation Street’s Tina O’Brien ‘hasn’t aged’ as she reminisces over award win at 17 year after joining soap as Sarah Platt

As Tina O’Brien of Coronation Street was reminded of her victory at her first major award ceremony at the age of 17, she was showered with compliments. Fans recognize the actress best as Sarah Barlow, nee Platt, in the ITV soap opera, where she first appeared in 1999 at the age of 16.
She replaced the actress Lynsay King in the role, and Tina was three years older than her alter ego.
Tina won Best Newcomer at both the National Television Awards and the TV Quick Awards the following year.
And that wasn’t the end of her accolades; earlier that year, the soap star Sarah’s pregnancy with Bethany Platt won the British Soap Awards’ Best Storyline.
But Tina, who is now 38, has found herself thinking back on the night she won Best Newcomer at the NTAs. After searching the archives for a photo of herself attending the celebrity-studded party, she posted it to Instagram.
She started to type “Hello from little me” next to the pictures that the event’s waiting photographers were taking. I just turned 17 and was wearing this when I arrived at the prestigious @officialntas in this old photo. The year was 2000.
I was also sporting a pair of Miss Sixty flares with poppers up the sides. I wish I still had those flares, but they wouldn’t fit me now. The purple top had delicate diamanté straps.
“You might notice my diamanté arm tattoo. Yes, I was a 00’s kid,” the speaker said. She then began to remember about the exciting occasion when she won her first significant prize. I had the incredible good fortune to receive the award for best newbie that evening from @dermotoleary, I believe, for @coronationstreet.
“I delivered a terrible speech, but I’m just grateful I didn’t pass out or vomit. All evening, the lovely @alissinc looked after me and watched out for my safety. Ah, memories. But seriously, wearing jeans to NTAs?
One of the first to respond, “Awww I remember this,” was Nikki Sanderson, who portrayed Sarah’s closest friend Candice Stowe in the television series Corrie.
Additionally, it appears that Denise Welch, who played Natalie Horrocks in the ITV soap opera, had a story to share. She posted: “That was the year when Judy Finnergans boobs came out!!!!” with a series of crying and laughing emojis.
Fans couldn’t help but comment on Tina’s age and how she doesn’t seem to have changed, even though it also made them think of their own fashion choices from more than 20 years ago. Lizkeenan97 left a comment: “What a feat for a 17-year-old! You now have an even better appearance, and your acting is superb.”
“I have never known somebody age so well,” stated @hannahadele2022. “You haven’t aged a day since,” wrote @gouldberg85. “You don’t look any different lol you was my favorite in corro,” tweeted @90gracap. You haven’t changed at all, wrote @lesley j84. Lizzy J. 212 responded: “You don’t appear to be aging. Still amazing”
Others couldn’t help but consider Scarlett, the daughter Sarah has with her ex-Corrie co-star Ryan Thomas, and how much she resembles her mother. You should “look like your Scarlett,” stated @lisahorn192. It’s basically scarlet with different hair, @v4l4t35 wrote.
And as Scarlett continues to walk in her parents’ footsteps, she is starting to resemble her mother more and more. The kid will be a cast member of the new Waterloo Road when it makes a significant return to the BBC, as it was previously reported back in February.
This year, Manchester will once again serve as the backdrop for the BBC One school drama, which will air on television. Additionally, Scarlett’s uncle Adam will be joining her on set as Donte Charles, making him a familiar face. Additionally, when Waterloo Road returns, his niece will play his on-screen daughter, Izzy Charles.
