ITV Coronation Street’s Samia Longchambon surprised with idyllic weekend break by husband ahead of milestone birthday

After being surprised by her husband, Coronation Street actress Samia Longchambon shared a photo of her dreamy weekend getaway.

In preparation for this week’s milestone birthday celebration, the actress, who portrays Maria Windass in the ITV soap opera, received treatment from her spouse Sylvain Longchambon.

She shocked her tens of thousands of Instagram followers by announcing she took advantage of the vacation to celebrate turning 40 on Wednesday, July 13.

She posted a montage of images from her time spent in what appeared to be a fully furnished treehouse, writing, “The last weekend of my 30s has been well spent.”

They were standing on the balcony of their temporary home in the middle of a remote forest when Samia saw Sylvain pour his wife a glass of champagne. Samia and Sylvain met when competing in Dancing On Ice in 2013.

The devoted couple, who have been married since 2016 and have a six-year-old son named Yves, were afterwards spotted taking a number of selfies while enjoying their idyllic few days away.

The video concluded with a shot of Eccles-born Samia grinning for the camera and holding a glass of wine while relaxing in what appeared to be a country manor’s garden.

She wrote in the caption of her image, “Thank you for our surprise retreat @slongchambon it was so amazing.”

However, Samia’s age drew the attention of her fans due to her youthful appearance. The serial star, who has been a part of Corrie for 22 years this year, received the following message from @ian.bowers.75: “Last weekend of your 30’s…?” You look to be around 28.” How can you be 40, @holbycityrailway jokingly asked? To me, you will always be 35.

The remark from @minshalljane was, “You only look in your 20s.” Others, though, were speechless at the breathtaking journey.

“Looks wonderful, you both look so happy,” tweeted @carollacey23. “Looks like you’ve had a fantastic birthday beautiful girl, and beautiful pair, happy birthday Samia,” tweeted @jacqueline.jones1.

Ahead of turning 40 on Wednesday, July 13, Samia, who has grown up in front of viewers as Maria Windass in Corrie (née Sutherland and formerly Connor), has recently been thinking back on her career.

Before agreeing to marry Tyrone Dobbs when he proposed on top of Blackpool Tower, the character had been a kennelmaid at the family-run Sutherland’s Kennels for 22 years when she joined the ITV soap opera.

She described what her children Yves and Freya, from her first marriage, said to her after set visit earlier this year as part of a friends and family day on the Salford-based cobbles, saying that if her children had their way, they might wind up doing the same thing.
