ITV Coronation Street’s Jude Riordan sends heartfelt ‘thank you’ as fans rush to support him over soap news

Jude Riordan, a star of Coronation Street, received a flood of encouraging notes as he expressed his gratitude to viewers and fans. The actor, who is best known for his role as Sam Blakeman in the ITV soap opera, had some good news this week and was happy to share it on social media, along with a small request.
The aspiring soap opera star learned that he had been selected for this year’s British Soap Awards longlist. This week saw the announcement of the whole list of nominees for the annual ceremony, with Coronation Street, EastEnders, and Emmerdale among the soaps competing for the top honor.
The Best Leading Performer and Best British Soap categories, as usual, are open to fan voting. But the Best Villain category has been assessed by a panel since 2015, and the Best Young Performer winner has also shifted back to being decided by the public, both for the first time since 2014.
Jude has also received a nomination for Best Young Performer. In EastEnders, Lillia Turner plays Lily Slater; in Emmerdale, Huey Quinn plays Kyle Winchester; and in Hollyoaks, Jayden Fox played Bobby Costello until he abruptly left the show.
After the British Soap Awards 2023 longlist was made public, Jude posted a photo of himself giving a salute in front of the famous Rovers Return on Instagram. The 11-year-old began the caption of his post, “Playing Sam Blakeman is a JOY!” “If you agree, please vote for me in the British Soap Awards’ Best Young Performer category (OMG).”

The former on-screen mother who portrayed Natasha Blakeman on Corrie, Rachel Leskovac, swiftly said, “Superstar,” and Jacob Hay, who left the serial earlier this year, Jack James Ryan responded, “You’ve got my vote.”
