ITV Coronation Street’s Elle Mulvaney ‘so happy’ as she’s given career news after reunion as former co-star shares sweet message

Elle Mulvaney, a star of Coronation Street, has expressed her happiness over some excellent job news, saying she is “so happy.” The actress has made the longlist for this year’s British Soap Awards. She has received accolades for her depiction of Amy Barlow in the ITV soap.

This week saw the announcement of the whole list of nominees for the annual ceremony, with Coronation Street, EastEnders, and Emmerdale among the soaps competing for the top honor. The Best Leading Performer and Best British Soap categories, as usual, are open to fan voting.

But the Best Villain category has been assessed by a panel since 2015, and the Best Young Performer winner has also shifted back to being decided by the public, both for the first time since 2014. And Elle has received a nomination for Best Leading Performer.

The actress is presently competing against many of her co-stars because the long list also includes Charlotte Jordan (Daisy Midgeley), Ryan Prescott (Ryan Connor), Sair Khan (Alya Nazir), and Paddy Bever (Max Turner).

Elle tweeted the following in response to the news: “Vote for #Corrie at this year’s Soap Awards! I’m over the moon to be a best leading performer nominee. And the fans answered right away. Massively well-deserved nomination, according to @wigan_mstherapy. Good fortune.

Also, I voted. Congratulations, you are so well earned, @scripttoscene retorted. A first of many nominations is my bet. Congratulations on the nomination, @corriepodcast wrote. Well earned (in fact, for a while now). Also stated by @calypsovoices: “THIS IS HUGE!!! PUT @ElleJMulvaney IN YOUR VOTE.

Quick to repost Elle’s message, Harriet Bibby, Elle’s co-star, tweeted: “Proud of our @ElleJMulvaney and all of our other fantastic #corrie candidates! Your voting location is known. While everything was going on, Jack James Ryan, who portrayed the soap star’s on-screen boyfriend Jacob Hay, posted a message of support on his Instagram Story.

“It’s that time of the year again @thebritishsoapawards and deservedly so, the bestie @ellejmulvaney is nominated in the ‘Lead Performer’ category,” he wrote with a photo of the duo, who remain close off-screen. She has been handling significant storylines with depth, honesty, and detail, and I can’t think of anyone else who deserves the accolades more.

He followed up by saying, “You know what to do,” and then provided a link to the voting form. Jack’s assistance follows his reunion with Elle, Harriet, and James Craven and Alex Bain, their fellow Corrie cast members. To assist the former soap star in celebrating his birthday, the group gathered.
