ITV Coronation Street’s Antony Cotton teases new on-screen love interest as he confirms new casting
Another new love interest for Sean Tully could be on the horizon. In a selfie he shared on social media, Antony Cotton appears to have announced the most recent casting for Coronation Street.

The actor, who has portrayed the Rover Return bartender and Underworld mechanic for 19 years, announced that Robert Shaw Cameron has joined the ITV serial opera cast.
At Corrie’s summer party earlier this week at The Ivy in Spinningfields, Antony posted a photo of the two together on Instagram and Twitter.
Antony, 43, said the following under the image: “This could be one to keep… #RobShawCameron #Shaw #Laurence @itvcorrie @ITV” Robert has previously starred in an episode of Corrie, when he played a police officer.
He did, however, also appear in Heartbeat and Holby City. Additionally, people were eager to comment on the potential new pairing.
“Oh oh god, you deserve this “Shaun”!! Xx,” tweeted @ktblea7. Responded @Maureen01549184: “Absolutely! You two look lovely together.” Love it, as stated by @GmaTimesEight. Added @Gabbysherwin: “Yes, at long last!”
Following another setback in his dating life, Unlucky in Love Sean experienced this. Recently, he was seen having dates with newcomer Frank Bardsley on Corrie.
At the end of May, the character, played by Simon O’Brien, made his first Weatherfield appearance when he entered the Rovers Return and struck up a conversation with Sean while waiting for his most recent date, whom he had met online.
But after he admitted his error on the dating app, Sean helped him out of it, and a few weeks later, they were out on dates together.
But as soon as Frank was introduced to George Shuttleworth, it became clear that the two of them were acquainted.
In an emotional sequence, George continued to open up to his partner Eileen Grimshaw and disclosed that Frank had bullied him in the past while they were both in school.
Frank also revealed his true colors earlier this month, despite George’s girlfriend Eileen Grimshaw’s efforts to persuade people that they can change. After Dylan, Sean’s recently-returned son, got hurt during a football game, he turned on Dylan.
Sean caught the teen as Frank yelled at him for not defending himself throughout the game and sent him running.
Antony has a long-term relationship in Peter Eccleston in real life. While Peter was employed by the show as an assistant props buyer, they first met on the Coronation Street set. And when it was discovered that Antony would be earning an MBE, Peter was the first to congratulate his spouse.
The soap opera star from Bury was honored for her contributions to British Army soldiers and veterans in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
In addition to his career in the entertainment industry, Antony has been active in the military community since 2008 and was appointed as the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Families Association’s first celebrity ambassador (SSAFA).
His appointment as the SSAFA’s 2022 ambassador for the defense inclusion category also makes him a patron of Help For Heroes. Following the homecoming of a close friend from Afghanistan who required assistance, Antony’s official affiliation with the organizations started.
