ITV Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall appears in sweet soap throwback as co-star says he loves him on 40th birthday
Alan Halsall, a cast member of Coronation Street, was brought back to his formative years on the cobbles by a flashback picture his co-star shared in honor of his 40th birthday. The actor, widely known for his role as Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV serial opera, is spending the vacation with his fiancée Tisha Merry, daughter Sienna, and family to mark the momentous milestone.

As birthday wishes poured in for the Corrie favorite on Thursday (August 11), Alan reposted content from his friends. A note from Samia Longchambon, who just turned 40 last month, was among them.
She published a picture taken at the late Christmas/spring party held earlier this year for the venerable soap opera.
The birthday boy, to whom she had placed a gif of a crown to his head, and Andy Whyment, who appears as Kirk Sutherland in Corrie, were sandwiched between the Maria Windass actress.
She wrote, “Happy 40th birthday to you @alanhalsall.” She added, with a string of happy emojis, “Caught me up.”
But she couldn’t help but look through the records, going back to the year 2000 when Tyrone and Maria had just been engaged and the young mechanic had popped the question atop Blackpool Tower.
The photo Samia, from Eccles, picked showed the couple in Roy’s Rolls looking youthful as they displayed Maria’s engagement ring. I had to share this little beauty with you today. Samia annotated the picture.
“The very best to you, my friend! I [love emoji] you, and here’s to you continuing to be a legend for the next 40 years.”
Andy, who has played Kirk for 22 years and joined the flashback trend, posted a number of old photos of the two together on his Instagram profile, including ones from awards ceremonies, vacations, and rounds of golf. The Salford actor commented, “Today @alanhalsall celebrates 40. We’ve known one other for nearly 30 years.”
“I’m so grateful that I can call you my brother and best friend. Have a wonderful day on your 40th birthday! I adore you, bro.” But Alan did have a grievance against his friend.
He added, referring to the somewhat crooked photograph of the two taken at the 2007 Inside Soap Awards, “All the photographs and memories I have with you…… and you chose that as your 1st pic.”
Fans, though, adored it. Posted by @jennifer roberts77; “a close bond of friendship. Alan, happy birthday.” said @judejackie: “Happy 40th anniversary. You appear really young. you’re lucky, Enjoy your day.” Comment from @pamela.rose1: “What a beautiful tribute! Have a fantastic day.” Posted by @tamdurston “Really, you folks haven’t aged much. You guys on Coronation Street are the best!” As @ thetimallen83 continued, “Tyrone 40 definitely does not look it.”
Jamie Kenna, one of Alan’s most recent co-stars, who made his Weatherfield debut as Phill Whittaker last year and played him until his understated departure last month, also posted a video of Alan on the Corrie set pretending to ride an inflatable unicorn on Instagram.
It was used in one of Phill and Tyrone’s humorous fight scenes, as fans of the soap opera may recall. Along with the video, Jamie wrote, “Love you @alanhalsall,” along with several animated gifs that said, “Happy Birthday” and “Happy 40th Birthday.”
Sam Aston, who plays Chesney Brown in Corrie, may have won the prize for the cutest message, though, after sharing a photo of his kid Sonny who looks just like him on Instagram. I hope you had the finest day possible, @alanhalsall, from one birthday boy to another.
Alan responded as he reshared the post with his own social media followers, “Aww my awesome little bday friend.” He then wished Sonny a happy birthday.
