ITV Coronation Street viewers left distracted by Sean Tully’s ‘awful’ habit
Fans of Coronation Street were diverted earlier this week when Sean Tully left for a date with newcomer Laurence.
In scenes shown on the ITV soap, the attractive dentist was introduced to the bartender and the Underworld machinist as he assisted Todd Grimshaw at a funeral.

Laurence attended Mr. Pugh’s burial, which was spared by Glenda Shuttleworth, a sister of George Shuttleworth, after her brother overdosed on heavy medications after breaking a tooth while eating one of Sean’s dinners.

Todd and Sean both seemed intrigued by the newcomer, but neither made a move.
Later, Sean was left wallowing in self-pity after failing to ask Laurence out for a drink.
Glenda, however, sprung into action and advised Sean to pose as a client at Laurence’s dentist office.
But Lawrence made the first move as in Wednesday night’s trip to the cobbles (August 10), fans saw him appear at the Undertakers.
Soon after, George arranged for him and Sean to go on a date to the Bistro, but Sean refused to go because he felt he had to prioritize Dylan in light of his recent failure with Frank.
Sean was resistant to the efforts of Eileen, Glenda, and Mary Taylor to persuade him otherwise. It wasn’t until Dylan showed there and insisted that his father get ready and leave while he was out with his friends that Sean changed his mind.
However, it didn’t take long for Sean and Laurence to be spotted interacting amicably over drinks at the restaurant. The burgeoning romance, however, was overshadowed by Sean’s ‘awful’ habit, according to Corrie viewers. Tweeted @guyfoxy: “#corrie I never seen anybody throw their dinner in the mouth like Sean just did. If that was scripted, I wonder.” “Vile wasn’t it,” @CaroleAnn1982 retorted.
Posted by Jane Laity on Facebook: “Sean shovels food into his mouth like a pig, and I couldn’t help but observe this. I went on one date with a person who was rude in all respects. Just a thought.” “Not the way Shaun was throwing his food into his mouth, his table manners are awful,” Margaret Williams echoed.
However, viewers’ attention was drawn to another individual after Sean’s stumble at home, and they believe another relationship may be developing in Weatherfield.
As @elizabethjallow suggested, pair Todd and Sean. Corriee Editz left a comment: “No! Sean and Todd are my.” What @hamletthevizsla foresaw: “The vicar will eventually be with Lawrence. Todd will also finally meet Sean. Quite evident” “Think todd likes Sean,” tweeted @leanne198455.
Tweeted @guyfoxy: “#corrie Sean just done something I’ve never seen anyone else do: toss their supper in the mouth. If that was scripted, I wonder.” “Vile wasn’t it,” @CaroleAnn1982 retorted.
Sharon Hayes responded to Corrie’s social media query on whether love might be in the air for Sean with: “I hope so, but the way Todd was acting looks like he’s jealous of the attention seans is getting so he’s going to make issues don’t like Todd so sneaky always has been. “I hope so, but bet Todd has different ideas,” Pauline Jones said. “I do hope so and that Todd doesn’t spoil it, especially if nothing is happening with his life,” @happy chappy 1978 commented.
Robert Shaw Cameron plays Sean’s new partner. Before he appeared on screen, Antony Cotton, who plays Sean, announced his new on-screen love interest by posting a photo of the two together at Corrie’s summer party, which was hosted at The Ivy in Spinningfields last month.
Antony, 43, said the following under the image: “This could be one to keep… #RobShawCameron #Shaw #Laurence @itvcorrie @ITV” Robert has previously starred in an episode of Corrie, when he played a police officer.
