ITV Coronation Street fans spot same issue as Spider Nugent reappears

After Spider Nugent made a comeback in the episode of Coronation Street that aired on Monday, August 8, many have been left saying the same thing.

Martin Hancock, who plays the famous character, finally returned to the cobblestones in July, although he hasn’t been there much lately.

Almost 20 years after leaving the cobblestones, Geoffrey David “Spider” Nugent made a comeback, as fans of the venerable ITV soap opera may recall. The eco-warrior nephew of Emily Bishop first appeared in 1997 and left Weatherfield in 2003.

In 2003, Spider and Toyah ended their relationship and moved off the street to begin a new life in London. However, they ultimately fell out off-screen, with Toyah returning to her family in 2016 and Spider going to Peru.

Iain Macleod, the show’s producer, hinted to Spider’s return earlier this year in a statement “When Spider shows up, a captivating new story will begin for Toyah, who will be caught up in a tangle of guilt and secrecy. Will he save her or end up ruining her life forever?”

However, Spider’s lack of screen time has been brought up by ITV viewers, who frequently commented on Twitter. “Spider’s back, bit pointless isn’t it,” tweeted @EnfieldGarry.

“Oh God I forgot all about Spider’s great comeback,” wrote @Willswhinge in agreement. Spider is back?, @priya kaur uk questioned in the meantime.

“More spider sequences have been back for a few weeks, and I believe this is maybe his third or fourth scene,” remarked Corrie viewer @mikepriestley13. Furthermore, @1stLadyHooligan wrote: “I believe Toyah will regret discussing anything with Spider, especially Imran and the trial. I don’t really care if Spider, as shady as he is, aids in Toyah’s imprisonment.”
