‘It’s a risk you take’ Emmerdale’s Harriet Finch star shares fears of being axed

Nearly ten years have passed since Katherine Dow Blyton made her Emmerdale debut as Harriet Finch, and throughout that time, the character has become involved in several significant plotlines.

She recently developed feelings for a village tough guy. After leaving St. Mary’s Church, Cain Dingle was viciously attacked and afterwards rose to the position of police officer.

Katherine has expressed her concerns about being fired from the ITV serial drama, even though Harriet is expected to play a significant role in the soap’s 50th anniversary storyline.

Fans of Emmerdale are counting down the minutes till the soap opera celebrates its historic 50th birthday in October.

A month of explosive storylines have been promised by the producers, and Harriet is expected to be at the center of one of them.

On October 16, Kim Tate (Claire King) and Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) will get married in what is being dubbed the “wedding of the decade.”

But when Harriet unexpectedly confesses her unwavering love for Will, their marriage might perhaps be finished before it ever gets started.

Could Harriet be one of the characters to die off over the anniversary month if a furious Kim murders her, as teased by Emmerdale executives?

Katherine, who plays Harriet, spoke exclusively to the media about her upcoming role in the ITV serial opera.

In response to the question of whether she was concerned about parting ways with coworkers in the future months, Katherine said: “Well, you never know, do you?

That’s how show business works; one second you’re present and the next you’re not.

But isn’t it a risk you incur and a requirement of the work, she continued?

You must take advantage of the opportunity to be a part of some fantastic narratives, regardless of what occurs.

She was being questioned with actor Jeff from the serial opera Cain, who revealed that performers are only given one-year contracts.

“I find that hard to believe sometimes, but they have to keep the program moving and freshen it up,” he continued.

However, they occasionally have to say goodbye to individuals, which is always heartbreaking. Nevertheless, I am confident that one day it will be me; it might even be me this year.

As long-running main characters in Emmerdale, audiences would be devastated to see Harriet or Cain depart the show.

As his mother Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter), who has played Cain for 20 years, nears the end of her life, Jeff will also be a part of the anniversary storylines.

Faith is receiving palliative care as she strives to live out her remaining days in the company of her loved ones despite having terminal cancer.

She and Cain have been attempting to patch up their strained relationship in recent weeks, and fans have even witnessed a more sympathetic side of him.

Cain even cried as he and his mother watched the sunrise and made an effort to forget the atrocities of the past.

Due to the way his mother treated him as a child, which made him feel abandoned, the mechanic has always found it difficult to warm up to her.

Sally is departing the soap opera, but the show’s producers haven’t said when her final episode will broadcast.
