Could it happen?
Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers.
The most recent episode of Grey’s Anatomy says farewell to two fan favorites, one more unexpected than the other.
Both Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) and Dr. Thomas Koracick (Greg Germann) made their exits in the most recent episode, and with the former’s exit being teased ahead of time, viewers have speculated whether a spin-off is in the works.
He told TVLine that his departure was “a mutual thing,” and that the artistic team needed to “pull the plastic wrap off” the character and make him feel the ups and downs of life outside of his comfort zone.
However, as Jesse said, “We’ll see.” This does not actually imply that we will follow that journey in a new episode. I’m not sure about that. I’m very excited to go out into the forest and do something fresh and new, as there is a part of me that is inspired to do so.
“Having said that, I’m really proud of the work and character I’ve built here in this world, and I understand [fans’ interest].”
“This will be a damn fascinating and meaty spinoff of amazingly talented actors in a world that I don’t see portrayed in television in terms of fairness in medicine and the real role that the medical profession plays in affecting our livelihoods, so there’s something there.” I’m not complaining. Then we’ll see what happens. We’ll have to wait and see.”
Jesse has since starred in the video games Detroit: Become Human and NBA 2K1, as well as the film Cabin in the Woods and was set to feature in a musical revival of the play Take Me Out before the pandemic struck.
Season 17 of Grey’s Anatomy airs on ABC in the United States and Sky Witness in the United Kingdom, with select episodes being streaming on NOW. Seasons 1 through 16 is available to watch on Disney+.
