Emmerdale’s Jay Kontzle announces new TV role away from ITV soap

The actor Jay Kontzle, who plays Billy Fletcher on the enduring ITV soap opera Emmerdale, has revealed a brand-new and intriguing project.

The former musician and actor, 31, announced his participation in a short film that is “doing the festival run” on social media.

To his 44.1k Instagram followers, Jay shared a photo of the movie’s banner with the caption: “Proud to report my second short film is presently making the festival run and has already picked up a few awards!

“Huge thanks to everyone that participated, as each person brought something unique to make this film!”

Fans were given an early peek at some of the other actors in the “Bring back my Bonnie” effort, including Timothy West from EastEnders.

Jay’s supporters and co-stars were quick to congratulate him on his success in their comments. Amy Walsh, who portrays Tracy Metcalfe in Emmerdale, responded with clapping emojis and complimented the “great cast.”

It happens just one month after Jay revealed that he and wife Mimi are expecting their third child; the announcement came as a bit of a shock to them as they weren’t trying.

The soap star claimed that upon learning of the unexpected addition to the family, he began to “sweat.” KaiBo, age six, and Zian, age four, are already children of Jay and his artist wife Mimi. While Jay was on his lunch break between filming on location, Mimi announced that she was expecting.

According to Jay, who spoke exclusively with our OK! Magazine colleagues, “Mimi contacted me during my lunch break on set and told me, I was there eating lunch in the sun when all of a sudden I grew hot and started dripping with sweat.

“I was somewhat surprised! Prior to that, Mimi had requested a pregnancy test, to which I responded, “A pregnancy test? That’s a lot of money, especially with the rising cost of living, and while I was at work, she made the decision to put a wrench in the plan over lunch!
