Priya Sharma, played by Emmerdale actress Fiona Wade, has seen her fair share of heartache over the years and has been a part of a number of dramatic stories.
Priya’s romantic relationships have not been the most successful on the show, from Cain Dingle to David Metcalfe. Fiona, however, is very different from her role in terms of her romantic relationships because she is a contentedly married to Simon Cotton.
The couple, who will shortly mark their third wedding anniversary, is just one example of a real-life relationship that resulted from participation in the ITV soap opera.
He starred on the soap opera Emmerdale in 2017, so fans of that show might recognize him. He was a part of several dramatic storylines while he was on the show.
Hugh Bryant, a client of Home Farm, was his alter ego.
Hugh and Priya only appeared in one scene together, but even though his character didn’t spend much time in the Dales, it was enough to have a lasting impression on Fiona.
After filming their one scene together, Fiona previously said that her friend Dana suggested that she and Simon go out to dinner together, and this was the beginning of their romance.
While rumors abounded that the two had moved beyond their friendship, Fiona didn’t officially acknowledge their relationship until July 2018 when they shared a cute Instagram photo together.
Less than a year later, they made the announcement that they were engaged, demonstrating how swiftly their love had grown.
In order to make the proposal as personal as possible, Simon chose to pop the question at the childhood home of his other half because it brought back fond memories of her late father, who sadly passed away from cancer.
The couple wed in November 2019, and it was a celebrity-studded celebration with Michelle Hardwick, Chris Bisson, Charley Webb, and Matthew Wolfenden, among others, in attendance.
The couple doesn’t currently have any children, but Fiona has been open about their desire to do so in the future. To “watch this space,” she remarked, adding that she is “really enthusiastic” for that phase of their lives.
