Emmerdale’s Amelia broken without Dan as she pushes loved ones away

In tonight’s Emmerdale (Friday 18th August), Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) was left distraught, pushing away people around her in the aftermath of her father Dan’s (Liam Fox) sentencing for manslaughter.

Dan’s final scenes aired last night (Thursday 17th August) as he began an eight-year term, while Amelia put on a brave face with worried boyfriend Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) as the ITV soap returned.

Amelia went to work at the salon after a quick talk with Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick), who was eager to help. Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) was shocked to see her back so quickly.

Meanwhile, Claudette Anderson (Flo Wilson) scheduled a nail appointment to check up on Amelia. But when Sam Dingle (James Hooton) mentioned his own stint in prison at the salon, Amelia became concerned for her father’s well-being.

Amelia fled away, terrified, knowing that Dan’s one act of violence would deter him from ever fighting back in the future. Claudette arrived just as she was ready to leave, and the older woman told Mandy that Amelia was too proud to ask for help.

Because Claudette insisted on taking action, she and Mandy ended up deep cleaning Amelia’s house.

Amelia felt judged by Claudette’s comments when she came and Noah stated that Mandy had compelled him to let them in.

When Claudette damaged Dan’s ‘World’s Best Dad’ mug, Amelia exploded, throwing her, Mandy, and even Noah out of the house.

Amelia felt bad at the church, but confided in Claudette’s son, priest Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin), about her worries about Dan. Will Amelia allow those who love her to support her as she cries for her father’s return?
