Emmerdale theory: Leyla Harding brain dead as she makes heartbreaking exit

Leyla had been concealing her drug addiction for months, and her husband Liam Cavanagh was unaware that his wife was regularly ingesting lines of cocaine.

He discovered Emma comatose during the Thursday night episode of Emmerdale because the strain her drug dealer was putting on her was too much for her to bear.

Although she was taken to the hospital right before the latest episode of the ITV serial ended, it’s possible that the emergency services arrived too late.

The beloved character passed out at home, and the paramedics arrived to find her in cardiac arrest and in need of immediate care.

As a result, the single mother was taken directly to the hospital, where her son Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) was undergoing a tour prior to being assigned there.

He was shocked to see his mother being carried in on a stretcher, and he and Liam had to wait anxiously.

Leyla’s heat could not be brought back to a regular rhythm, therefore it took the physicians a long to stabilize her.

Unfortunately, this would have meant that her brain received very little oxygen, which could have had negative effects.

It’s possible that when the doctors scan her, they’ll see that her brain isn’t doing much because she’s still unconscious.

Being a doctor, Liam is aware that his only option would be to consent to having her life support system switched off.

Naturally, Jacob would oppose, but he would have to explain to the boy that there is no way for his mother to return.

Leyla could pass away surrounded by her loved ones in a tragic way as an investigation is launched to find out what happened.

Will Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) be charged with murder now that Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) has accused him as being the reason Leyla overdosed?

Liam discussed his wife’s prognosis with his coworker Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) towards the end of the episode.

“I’m not sure how much longer I can endure this,” In response to what Liam said to his friend, “I’m assuming you were unaware that she was a drug user.

She said, “You discovered her at home alone, so that doesn’t suggest that’s someone who is just dipping their toes in the water.

Manpreet continued, “This proves it may effect any one of us,” to which Liam replied: “No, it’s a lifestyle decision.

He said, “She made a conscious choice to take it,” to which Manpreet responded that pressure might have various effects on different people.

Biting back, Liam retorted, “Stop defending her. There isn’t a defense. Leanna had her life stolen away from her; life is valuable.

Leyla will do it alone if she decides to toss hers away for a cheap thrill, but she had no choice but to do it.

This seems to imply that Leyla would pass away and Liam might come to regret having said he would divorce his wife.

The doctor genuinely struggles with his grief as he starts to believe he is cursed with bad luck after losing his kid and wife last year.

When her life support is turned off, will he be able to say goodbye to his wife or will he stay with her with the rest of her loved ones?

Leyla’s actress, Roxy, has already discussed her feelings over leaving the show in 2011 and coming back in 2023.

It really was good, Roxy said. I had never performed a Shakespeare play until I took the role of Bianca in Othello at the National with some incredible actors and actresses.

We performed on the Olivier stage, which was spectacular. The cast and director were outstanding.

“I’m really happy I did it, and I also produced a yoga DVD that is currently available.

I believe that taking on those new assignments absolutely paved the way for me to feel truly prepared to return to this role with more vigor and joy than I had previously.

Is she prepared to leave permanently over ten years later? She continued to say in an interview with Digital Spy that “sometimes you need that little breakaway.”

Jane Hudson provided insight to the media earlier this year regarding Leyla’s prospects following the Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) saga.

The show’s executive producer stated: “A significant plotline for Leyla will begin in 2022.

“But is everything really as it seems? We’ve seen her be a wonderful help to Liam during the loss of his daughter Leanna.

Is Leyla truly handling things as well as she appears to be on the surface, or is there anything else going on that we’ll eventually find out?
