Emmerdale tease 50th anniversary storm episode and fans love it

Can you believe it’s been 50 years already? Emmerdale has released a new trailer teasing what viewers can anticipate from the soap’s 50th anniversary.

An hour-long special episode of the ITV soap opera will air on Sunday, October 16 to commemorate the official birthday, the show announced last week.

The stories for the forthcoming historic anniversary of Emmerdale, which will reach five decades on our screens next month, have already begun developing. According to The Mirror, Emmerdale reported in August that a massive storm is expected to devastate the community.

The minute-long, stormy clip features characters like Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock), Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin), Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), Noah Dingle (Jack Downham), and Kim Tate (Claire King) in a muddy wedding dress.

The video clip also features the fight sequence between Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) and the young pair Liv (Isobel Steele) and (Bradley Johnson), whose relationship has just been put to the test by Liv’s mother Sandra.

Atop Thursday, September 29, the Emmerdale social media pages posted the teaser, which features the cast as cake figures on a stunning Woolpack 50th anniversary cake. The heading stated: “The community of Emmerdale is in the midst of a storm. Check out the events planned for a very memorable birthday month.”

Fans of Emmerdale are undoubtedly looking forward to the episodes that will air next month as a result of the teaser, with many posting their reactions on social media. Emmerdale tweeted back, “We can confirm that they do,” in response to Jordan Phelps’ post, “This teaser looks hope this episodes live up to it now.”

Gamer Danny posted: “Looking forward to what you have planned for the 50th anniversary! Undoubtedly, a storm is developing!” Michael said: “I’m excited for upcoming episodes and anticipate a few deaths. We already know that one will be Faith, but I predict that there will also be a murder and perhaps a storm-related fatality.”

“That trailer blew me away. I can’t wait for Emmerdale for your birthday,” Farha continued. Tweeted Aaron Mooney: “This trailer is actually my favorite so far. The back of my neck is tingling from watching it, like though I can’t quit.”

How awesome does that look? Can’t wait, let’s go, said Charlotte. Michelle also said, “Bring on your birthday month. This trailer looks wonderful.”

A team at ITV Creatives produced this unique trailer. Tony Pipes, ITV Creatives’ executive creative director, stated the 50th anniversary will be “a watershed moment in television” as he put together the special trailer.

He said: “The concept of a celebration cake came from the creative Jess, who saw it as a fantastic vehicle to communicate the tale of the impending special episode, while also commemorating its heritage. It’s incredible that a show has lived in the hearts and minds of the country for fifty years.”

The actors stood “totally immobile,” according to director Matt Rhodes, while the miniatures were produced using 3D printers. He explained: “Their clothes and hair were on wires to give the appearance that they were being battered by the severe winds, so they couldn’t move an inch.

Rachel King, the creative director, continued, “From The Woolpack to the barn, the car to the costumes, everything was recreated exactly as it is seen in the show. It serves as a microcosm of the Emmerdale Universe.

“The audience will be intrigued by the hints and easter eggs (not chocolate ones) of what’s to come that are hidden in the movie because they are invested in the storylines of these beloved characters. All of the action is still in the familiar, where the fans’ hearts are, even though the execution is unfamiliar and uses models.
