Emmerdale star teases ‘sensational’ 50th anniversary episodes after seeing scripts

As the ITV soap opera celebrates its 50th anniversary, Emmerdale is planning some major sequences for later this year.

Actor Mark Charnock, who plays Marlon Dingle, recently revealed that after reading the big-episode scripts, there will be “sensational” situations.

Actress Zoe Henry, who plays Rhona Goskirk, said that because the scripts for the show had just been made available to the actors, she had no idea what was in store for her or other characters.

There haven’t been many information published regarding the plots or the anniversary itself, but there will be plenty soon.

In her statement to The Mirror and other media: “We are unsure. The bottom line is that. Only the scripts that you are in are served to you. So, in all honesty, I don’t think I know.”

But after receiving the scripts that same day, Mark had something to say and guaranteed there would be “woah” moments.

He said, “They just arrived, we just got an email about them, and it’s nothing short of fantastic, actually.

So it’s definitely amazing. One of those “oh woah!” moments.

In order to commemorate the milestone for the soap opera, soap boss Jane Hudson revealed that there would be a month of plots and massive scenes.

We want to ensure that our 50th birthday month is a treat for all of our devoted viewers and has them gripped to the edge of their seats as the storylines unfold, she teased.

Jane assured soap fans that they might see some of the most incredible stunts they’ve ever seen as she predicted conflicting feelings as to what viewers can expect as the celebrations unfold.

She uttered: “We want to make sure we highlight our great community and everyone who lives there because we are extremely pleased to be a jewel in Yorkshire’s crown.

“You will see stories throughout the month that will bring you to tears, make you laugh aloud, and, of course, amaze you with some of the most incredible stunts you have ever seen.

Never before has this statement been more accurate: “The Emmerdale team is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to creating drama as it very best.”
