Emmerdale star Laura Norton reveals which role she missed out on

Laura Norton, who currently plays Kerry Wyatt on Emmerdale, claimed that she had two auditions for the serial before being cast, so we finally know for whom she initially applied.
Kerry originally appeared in the village back in 2012, and despite a few interruptions along the way, she has remained a fixture in Emmerdale ever since.
Laura has now disclosed that her original goal was to join the Dales as Ali Spencer or Ruby Haswell while reflecting on her time on the ITV series.
According to Laura, who spoke with Inside Soap, “Me and my family had always followed Emmerdale and I’d tried out before, but it hadn’t worked out, so I assumed the ship had sailed.”
Laura acknowledged that she had applied for the roles of Ali Spencer, the mother of Amelia Spencer (Kelli Hollis), and Ruby Haswell, Ali’s on-screen lover (Alicya Eyo), and she accepted that things finally turned out for the best.
“I wasn’t quite right for either, the casting director remarked, but a year later I was called in for Kerry. Out of roughly 40, I was the first person they saw. It was intended to be “Added she.
Regarding Kerry, Laura is still having a great time bringing the character to life. “I love her,” the actress said.
She’s a trainwreck with a heart, a fun-loving girl with a difficult childhood, so she carries a lot of baggage and is vulnerable.
Laura made this disclosure after recently disclosing her connection with her former co-star Mark Jordon, who played Daz Spencer on the soap opera until his departure in 2019.
