Emmerdale star Joanne Mitchell’s life – co-star husband, forgotten roles and second job

Joanne Mitchell from Emmerdale has made numerous appearances on the well-liked ITV soap opera, playing four very different roles in the process.
Joanne, who is currently known as Sandra Flaherty, portrays Liv’s mother on the Yorkshire-based soap opera, but she has also played a variety of other characters.
She made her debut in 2003 as DS Karen Barnborough, who looked into Scott Windsor’s rape allegations against Zoe Tate.
She made her second appearance on Emmerdale in the role of Midwife Yeo, who took care of baby Samson Dingle.
She began working as Susan Davies, an officer for the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (CAFCASS), in 2009.
And more recently, after taking over for Janet Bamford in February 2016, she portrays Sandra, a tacky mother with a drinking problem.
What about Joanne’s life outside of the Dales, though?
Everything we know about TV and movie sensation Joanne Mitchell—from her co-star husband, who you will undoubtedly be familiar with, to her rival soap role in a damning storyline, to her second job—is contained in this paragraph.
Co-star husband
Outside of acting, Joanne is married to fellow Emmerdale actor Dominic Brunt, whom she met while both were students at the same theater program.
The couple met at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, where they both received their training. They later both made appearances in the Emmerdale soap opera.
Dominic portrays Paddy Kirk, a recurring character who has appeared in the soap opera since 1997.
After getting married in 2003, Joanne and Dominic teamed up to start a film production company that bears both of their surnames.
Together, they have two kids.
Son rushed to hospital
When he was only eight years old, the couple’s son Danny was identified as having a heart condition.
He had to be sedated and wheeled away to the operating room at one point after being rushed to the hospital.
He required bypass surgery, and as a result, Joanne and Dominic were informed that there was a possibility he would not survive.
On This Morning, Dominic previously said the following: “At the age of eight months, he required major heart surgery, but he is now healthy.
“Even though it’s the most gruesome thing a parent could ever experience, he’s now obsessed with football, is completely fine, and only needs annual checkups from now on.
Because you don’t know what you’re doing and are forced to go through this information, the staff at Leeds Infirmary support you as parents.
Rival soap role
Joanne has made appearances in a variety of TV programs, including Coronation Street.
She has portrayed Marsha Westbrook in Corrie and a sonographer on another occasion.
She was Neil Clifton’s wife and Kayla Westbrook’s mother when she first appeared as Marsha in 2018.
Police officer Neil, a participant in an abusive sex ring, was sentenced to prison after raping Bethany Platt in an egregious plot.
She has appeared on shows like Waterloo Road, Doctors, A Touch of Frost, Holby City, and Caeser Price Our Lord in addition to her time on the cobbles.
Second job
Joanne and her husband Dominic own a business, as we already mentioned.
They established Mitchell-Brunt Films, a company that experiments with fusing the drama and horror genres.
She has written and produced two short horror films, Shell Shocked and The Mighty Witch Killers of Pendle Hill, in addition to her acting work.
She also appeared with other actors in the Manchester-based film Habit and the claustrophobic chiller White Settlers.
She also created, produced, and starred in the zombie drama Before Dawn 2013 and the female revenge thriller Bait, in addition to the aforementioned projects.
