In the aftermath of Dan’s (Liam Fox) leave from Emmerdale, Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) grappled with her feelings.
In Friday night’s (August 17) episode of the ITV soap, Dan was sentenced to 8 years in prison. Following Lloyd’s death, which was caused solely by Dan hitting him, he was charged with manslaughter.
Amelia was knew that Dan would be imprisoned, but she hoped it wouldn’t be for long. She assured herself she’d be on her own for the better part of a year before welcoming Dan back to the Dales.
Unfortunately, that will not be the case.
Amelia, in classic Amelia manner, was determined to be strong and self-sufficient on Day 1 without Dan. She arrived at the salon and told Mandy (Lisa Riley) that she needed more bookings to pay the rent, but the presence of Claudette (Flo Wilson) caused the youngster to flee.
As Claudette and Mandy faced one other, Claudette stated that she wants to help Amelia, but that things will not get any easier until she accepts help and support from others.
Amelia came home to find Claudette and Mandy in the kitchen. Mandy was cleaning and Claudette was cooking; they both wanted to help Amelia, but it simply made her feel suffocated.
As the situation worsened, Mandy made a mistake, causing Dan’s Best Dad Ever mug to tumble and crash to the ground.
Amelia, who was inconsolable, announced that she was leaving and wished for Mandy and Claudette to be gone when she returned.
Charles (Kevin Mathurin) gave Amelia advice in the church. He gently informed Amelia that she would undoubtedly encounter challenges and that the villagers fully intended to support her and Esther up until Dan returns home.
Amelia sobbed as they hugged, terrified by how drastically her life has altered.
