Rosie Bentham, who plays Gabby Thomas in Emmerdale, has lived a life that is almost as dramatic as her character.
Rosie, like Gabby, had to deal with her father’s loss, but she also saw their excitement when she landed her part.
While Gabby’s love life is complicated, Rosie appears to be in good shape.
Gabby goes into labor in tonight’s Emmerdale, leaving many fans wondering if she will flee the village with grandmother Diane Sugden and avoid the wicked Kim Tate.
Gabby has been embroiled in a number of dramatic plots since her arrival in the hamlet in 2016, when her onscreen father Ashley, played by John Middleton, was diagnosed with dementia.
Will Gabby be able to keep Kim out of her baby’s life for good now that she has finally stood up to Kim?
Rosie Bentham, who has portrayed the character since she was a teenager, will answer one of many questions on television.
Gabby, who was born in Nottingham on July 29, 2001, is Rosie’s first significant television role. She just became pregnant with Jamie Tate’s kid after a one-night affair and agreed to travel to Portugal with her grandma Diane Sugden.
While viewers have witnessed Gabby’s relationship with Jamie, actress Rosie has remained tight-lipped about her personal life. It is said that she is in a relationship but keeps her boyfriend’s identity a secret.
Rosie is the youngest of four children, with a sister and two brothers, and has stated that her mother Marianne is her inspiration outside of Emmerdale.
She also discusses her father John’s death in 2019, one week before her 18th birthday, from a pulmonary embolism (blood clot).
Rosie told The Mirror last year that his death came as a complete shock to her, stating, “I just couldn’t believe it because dad hadn’t been ill before.”
“I became enraged because I couldn’t comprehend why and how it had occurred,” Rosie explained. “I recall saying, ‘No, no, no.'”
She thinks that by sharing her personal sorrow experiences, she would be able to help others who are going through the same thing.
“It doesn’t bother me if people ask me about my father’s memories because I have so many wonderful ones.”
Rosie has spoken of her parents’ delight when she was awarded the role of Gabby in Emmerdale when she was 14 years old.
She not only starred as Gabby while studying for her GCSEs and A-Levels, but she also attended Nottingham’s Television Workshop Drama Group, where alumni include Vicki McClure of Line of Duty and Lucy Pargeter of Emmerdale.
Rosie has also stated that she enjoys Line of Duty and would like to pursue similar dramas in the future, but she also wants to stay on Emmerdale for as long as possible.
According to The Sun, she stated: “Working in the industry, as I do, is extremely difficult to break into, and I know many others who have attempted to do so. I consider me quite fortunate.”
Last month, the actress turned 20 and published images of herself in a lovely red dress and with her friends on her Instagram page, looking nothing like her Emmerdale role.
In a recent interview with The Sun, she also stated that Barack Obama, Emma Watson, and Justin Bieber are the three persons she would invite to a dinner party.
