Emmerdale promises 2023 ‘summer spectacular’ with returning character hint

Emmerdale appears to be in for a significant few months that will end with a “summer extravaganza.”

Emmerdale celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2022 with some significant storylines and shocking exits, and serial villain Meena Jutla, played by Paige Sandhu, finally received her just desserts. How then can the soap surpass all of that in the coming year?

The executive producer of the serial opera, Jane Hudson, gave viewers a few ideas about how 2023 is shaping out while speaking at a press event for Emmerdale. A significant summer in the village is promised to ITV soap opera viewers.

“I’m storyboarding June right now, so my head is there,” Jane said. If I said that I had to come up with something now, I couldn’t tell you anything because we are now working on summer storylines. I always like to have a little bit of a summer spectacular.

It would be exciting to see an old favorite return to Emmerdale, perhaps as part of the midsummer festivities. Despite this, Jane didn’t really say who it might be.

I can’t tell you (who), because I’m still checking, Jane teased. I recently got an idea and thought, “Ahhhhh, our viewers would love that.” We are writing June tales.

Jane chuckled as she left, saying, “Let me go, let me go.” Fans of Emmerdale will have something to think about in the ensuing weeks and months thanks to what she has to say.
