Five episodes of Emmerdale will be released in less than two days, thanks to significantly altered ITV schedules.
Following the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, the broadcaster and other stations have been regularly updating their announced schedules. In an effort to make up for the loss of both Emmerdale and Coronation Street from their regular timeslots for prolonged news coverage, ITV aired three episodes of Emmerdale simultaneously on Thursday.
The station will now begin airing two more episodes tonight (Friday) at 8 o’clock. Soap opera lovers would have had just over 24 hours to watch five episodes as a result.
On Thursday, a triple bill of Emmerdale episodes began at 7.30 p.m., then at 9 p.m., Coronation Street began for an hour.
Emmerdale will air twice that day, from 8 to 8.30 and 8.30 to 9.
There will be no Friday episodes of Coronation Street; instead, ITV will screen Professor T. This Morning and Loose Women have been canceled, among other alterations to the schedule for today.
ITV will instead run extended news coverage up until the 2pm airing of Dickinson’s Real Deal. Before additional ITV news at 6 o’clock, Tenable, Tipping Point, and The Chase are scheduled to air.
