An surprise comeback of a “soap legend” during Thursday’s episode of Emmerdale delighted viewers.

Dan Spencer, who accidently killed the stalker of his daughter Amelia with one punch, waited for his fate in fear. Before Mandy Dingle arrived and succeeded in persuading Dan to go for a drink at the Woolpack, village members took turns showing up at his house to offer moral support.

David Metcalfe and other people had surprised him with a farewell drink when he arrived.

And before going to court, Dan came home and got an unexpected video call.

As she called to see how he was doing, Kerry Wyatt, who is now away from Emmerdale on a cruise ship, showed up on his phone screen.

Laura Norton, a Kerry actress, departed the soap opera in November to have a baby. And despite the poignant scenes, many home viewers were overjoyed to see Kerry back.
