Emmerdale fans fume as soap cut in another ITV shake-up as Queen coverage continues

Fans of the ITV soap opera Emmerdale were not pleased when they tried to watch Friday night’s episode.

Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, September 8, the long-running soap opera has undergone significant scheduling changes.

While it appeared that the usual hour-long episode would air, ITV News continued to provide in-depth coverage live from Westminster as viewers watched the Queen lie in state until 8:30 p.m.

Even while the channel frequently changed its programming over the last week to honor the adored late king, it didn’t sit well with the show’s devoted followers.

One yelled indignantly: “So there’s only one episode now instead of the two it said before. ITV, you have already showed it. Additionally, you have THREE MORE channels.

“I’m tired of you altering the timetable at the eleventh hour. Emmerdale was scheduled to begin at 8 o’clock, but you canceled last-minute to air something that we’ve watched a thousand times and is already on other networks. We are getting quite frustrated,” a second yelled.

“F furios that Emmerdale is not only delayed but the double we were promised is now only one!” wrote a third.

Another disgruntled Twitter user commented, “Emmerdale is scheduled to be on from 8 to 9pm but guess what ITV have screwed around with the schedule again at the last minute to show us what we’ve already watched a hundred times.

“I started my supper to have it with #Emmerdale and it’s been pushed back again and there’s just 1 episode, news has been on since 6pm,” a fifth person echoed.

Thousands of people in sadness lined up to see the Queen’s casket as ITV News broadcast live from Westminster.

Presenters from This Morning Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, as well as former professional football player David Beckham, attended to express their respect.
