Emmerdale could be rocked by brutal murder as 50th has ‘every story imaginable’

Almost a year after the last terrible death of a character at the hands of a local, Emmerdale may be planning its next homicide.

It has been hinted that the next soap killer may be just around the horizon, following the recent terror reign of serial killer Meena Jutla.

The 50th anniversary episodes of the soap opera will show viewers a severe wind storm hit the community, putting lives in danger.

Bosses have now stated that most characters will be involved in some form, with some expected to suffer from significant injuries, in light of recent cast members’ death-related teases.

Producers Jane Hudson and Kate Brooks revealed to The Mirror and other media that characters were in grave danger as information was finally confirmed.

They also revealed some of the other events, so it’s safe to assume that throughout October, a variety of plots and surprises will be playing out simultaneously.

John said: “Our 50th birthday is in October, so we decided to honour the occasion by throwing a month-long party rather than just one day.

“And that’s just what we’ll be doing. Therefore, we have every story imaginable, in true Emmerdale fashion.

“We have things that will make you laugh, cry, be surprised, and have stories that will rock your world,” the author said.

But with all that is going on, when asked if the 50th anniversary episodes would include a murder, Jane didn’t precisely rule it out.

She uttered: “Emmerdale being Emmerdale, there is always a chance of a murder. It is well known for its murders, you know. Emmerdale means that a murderer is almost always waiting around the next corner.”

She might have just been making fun of us, or maybe the village’s next murderer is going to strike.

Earlier this year, Meena actress Paige Sandhu hinted to The Mirror that her character would return.

She explained: “Never say never from me. It’s going to be the greatest and best year yet for Emmerdale, but nothing is certain. We’ll see since I can’t say much just yet.”

Paige said, “I can’t say much but keep your eye out,” when asked where viewers would next see her, a further hint at an Emmerdale comeback.
