Emmerdale bosses make plea to fans ahead of episode being cancelled

On the same day that an episode of Emmerdale was canceled by ITV, the show’s producers made a plea to the audience.

The most recent episode of the venerable ITV soap opera has been moved to Wednesday (September 7). Normally, Emmerdale airs every weekday at 7.30 p.m., however there has been a change in the programing.

ITV will broadcast live coverage of England Women vs. Luxembourg Women in the Group D Women’s Football World Cup Qualifier in place of Emmerdale.

From 7.30 p.m. to 10 p.m., football will be shown, with commentary from Seb Hutchinson and Emma Hayes and analysis from Ian Wright and Karen Carney.

Since they played in front of their own fans for the first time since winning Euro 2022, England Women intend to finish their qualifying campaign in style after winning the rematch by a staggering 10 goals to zero last September.

Emmerdale executives posted a request on Instagram the same day the show was canceled. A picture of the recognizable Emmerdale village sign against a bright blue sky was posted on the soap’s official Instagram account.

The post’s heading read: “The Inside Soap Awards voting is about to end. To cast your vote for Emmerdale, click the link in our article. @itv @WeAreStv1 @insidesoapmagazine #Emmerdale”
