Emmerdale actress Claire King’s co star ex and hidden illness

For more than three decades, Emmerdale legend Claire King has portrayed Kim Tate on the soap opera.

The 60-year-old actress moved to the fictional Yorkshire village in 1989 and resided there for ten years before making a daring helicopter escape with her son James. Kim made a comeback for what was intended to be a one-time appearance nearly 20 years later.

She quickly returned to being a regular character, though it was evident that she had more fun than she had imagined.

Although Kim has been at the center of some of Emmerdale’s most dramatic plots, her existence away from the cameras almost seems predetermined. Over the years, Claire has faced many challenges, including nearly going bankrupt, battling a “hidden” sickness, and experiencing tragic heartbreak.

The celebrity revealed to OK! She has rheumatoid arthritis, which has gotten so bad that it has nearly prevented her from working. Only 28 years old when she received the illness’s diagnosis.

Since my symptoms don’t always show, it doesn’t mean I’m not in pain or worn out, Claire said: “I struggled to go to work and do the things I enjoy, like horseback riding, because of the tremendous pressure it put on my knees. I can definitely identify to the term “invisible sickness.”

The sixth time Kim Tate has been married in the soap opera Emmerdale, Claire’s character recently wed Will Taylor. Claire, meanwhile, has only recently been married once in real life.

The actress and her co-star Peter Amory, who portrayed her stepson Chris Tate in the ITV soap, separated in 2004. After getting married in 1994, Claire and Chris were together for ten years. However, everything crumbled when Claire learned that Chris was having an affair, according to LeedsLive. Since then, Claire has stated that she and Pete are “on good terms.”
