EastEnders’ Bobby Brazier reveals his biggest mentors on set

Following his victory at this year’s National Television Awards (NTAs), Bobby Brazier of EastEnders has discussed which performers inspire him while working.

In 2022, the actor took over the role of Freddie Slater in EastEnders, and yesterday night (September 5)’s gala recognized him with the Rising Star award. Lewis Cope from Emmerdale, Channique Sterling-Brown from Coronation Street, Benjamin Chivers from The Devil’s Hour, and other soap opera actors competed against Brazier.

After winning, Brazier spoke out to the media about who his set mentors are, saying the larger Slater family holds a particular place in his heart.

When questioned about his co-stars’ influences, he responded, “Everyone for various reasons.

“I have the utmost love for Clay [Milner Russell. Brazier referred to the Bobby Beale actor as “one of my best friends, on and off screen.”

Lillia Turner is such an inspiration, and Lacey Turner is absolutely a jewel. On-screen mother-daughter team Stacey and Lily Slater were described as “so young and she’s so good” by him.

Freddie, played by Brazier, has been entangled in numerous dramatic storylines since making his debut on Walford last year.

Freddie discovered the truth about Graham Foster, his biological father, earlier this summer thanks to Kat Slater.

Freddie located Graham and met with him pretending to be interested in buying a car from him. Concerned Kat was compelled by their encounter to inform her nephew, who was shocked, that evil Graham had sexually assaulted Freddie’s mother Little Mo 18 years earlier.
