EastEnders spoilers: Shirley keeps a dangerous secret after Phil’s shock exit from Walford

Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) is a woman on a mission to seize control of Peggy’s from Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) after learning of the agreement between DCI Keeble (Alison Newman) and Phil Mitchell (Alison Newman) made on EastEnders.
The Mitchell code was broken and the number one crime of being a grass was committed when Shirley surreptitiously followed Phil in a recent episode and was able to gather evidence, including photos, to prove that Phil had been cooperating with the authorities.
Phil realized he was running out of time after Shirley threatened to reveal this and Billy (Perry Fenwick), who Phil had to sacrifice to Keeble, was facing prison.
He came to the conclusion that leaving the Square was his only chance to escape the trouble Keeble had put him and his family in.
In upcoming episodes, Keeble keeps up the pressure by unexpectedly calling Kat (Jessie Wallace) and asking for Phil. Shirley is cautioned by Kat that it is imperative that she keep silent about Phil’s whereabouts and what she knows.
Shirley concurs, but she informs Kat that she shouldn’t put her trust in Phil. Will Shirley honor her promise? Or will she pursue Phil on her own?
