Celebs from Coronation Street Elle Mulvaney and Mollie Gallagher ditched Weatherfield’s cobblestones for a day at famed theme park Alton Towers.

The debut of the family-friendly Oktoberfest event at the theme park converted the day out for Amy Barlow and Nina Lucas into a double date when their boyfriends came along.

Actor Liam Scholes, who plays the popular BBC school drama Waterloo Road, joined Elle Mulvaney.

Liam appeared as Eli Higginson for a handful of episodes of Corrie in 2021, where the two first met. Bully Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) had Eli as a friend.

Mollie, who has been dating musician Dan Myers for over three years, of the indie rock band Inego, came with him.

Their day together follows a turbulent year for their fictional characters, who both took part in a disturbing plot line that saw Amy being sexually assaulted by buddy Aaron Sandford.

Before finally talking about what had happened, Amy kept her terrible experience a secret for several weeks.

Amy struggled after reporting the incident to the police, which resulted in the case being dismissed for lack of evidence.

However, Amy’s friends, including Nina, Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey), and Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), were eager to help her recover from her ordeal.

The celebrities were able to put their jobs behind them as they relaxed and shared grins over beverages.

They weren’t the only Corrie celebs there; Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria Connor, and her two kids also visited the theme park.

The actress apologized to her son for not being tall enough to ride the roller coasters as she shared photographs from the day on Instagram stories.

They appeared to be having fun however, as Samia acknowledged that the heat allowed her to ride more rides than she had anticipated.
