Craig Charles quits presenting The Gadget Show after more than five years at the helm

After five years as host of The Gadget Show, presenter Craig Charles has announced his departure.

The radio DJ and TV host stated that he left the position because he was looking for a new experience.

Craig co-hosted the Channel 5 consumer program with Ortis Deley, Jon Bentley, and Georgie Barrat.

In addition, Craig had his own BBC Radio program, The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, which was recently cancelled. He also appeared in Coronation Street from 2005 to 2015.

However, after the passing of his brother in 2014, he changed his perspective on his work and acknowledged that he is eager for new ventures.

I don’t think I’ll continue to co-present Gadget Shows, so that’s out, he declared.

I enjoy trying out new experiences, and I never look back.

“My brother’s death caused me to leave Coronation Street because it made me realize there were things I wanted to do—which I didn’t have time for while I was in Corrie—before it was too late,” he continued. “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

In an interview with Moneybags on Channel 4, he talked candidly about his role as host. He said: “People have come to me with quizzes and game shows for so many years, but none of them matched my personality.

“Moneybags is fascinating; every week, £1 million comes off the conveyor belt.

It’s cliche, but that sum of money might change your life.

He said, “Last summer, in addition to hosting The Gadget Program, the first season of Moneybags, my radio show Monday through Friday, and a show about UFOs for Sky History, I was also performing all weekend long.

“I should go more slowly.”
