Corrie’s Hope star feels ‘left out’ in ‘heated’ home life with co-star siblings

Hope Stape, a star of Coronation Street, has opened out about her “heated” family dynamics with her co-star siblings and acknowledged that she frequently feels “left out.”

On the Corrie cobbles, Isabella Flanagan portrays Hope Stape, the daughter of John Stape, and William Flanagan, Joseph Brown, Hope’s cousin.

Amelia, their older sister, is best known for playing April Windsor in the competing ITV serial opera Emmerdale.

The Inside Soap Awards have nominated Isabella for Best Young Performer, where she will compete against her older sister for the honor.

Gabrielle Dowling, who portrays Cathy Hope in Emmerdale, and Jude Riordan, who plays Sam Blakeman in Corrie, are both nominated as well.

“I always felt left out as my sister has received so many honors,” Isabella said when discussing her home life with her siblings to Inside Soap. Thus, it’s wonderful to eventually be recognized.

The siblings frequently engage in “heated” disagreements, she continued, adding: “There are so many arguments at home whenever there are award ceremonies.

It can get a little heated because my sister is clearly on Team Emmerdale while my brother and I are on Team Corrie.

The trio does encourage one another and run lines together, as Isabella acknowledged, praising their “very wonderful bond.”

The mood between them, according to her sister Amelia, is “never competitive,” and she said that she frequently poses as a Coronation Street character when waiting in line with her siblings, while they adopt Emmerdale personalities.

Amelia expressed her unwavering support for Isabella to the media, saying: “As much as I’d love to win, I truly hope my sister gets it! I’m up against Bella for an award for the first time.”

Even Amelia has visited the Corrie set on more than one occasion, posing outside the Rovers Return with her soap opera siblings.

Their father Chris frequently tweets updates on his well-known children, congratulating them for their ability and discussing their “busy months” while promising “much more to come for Hope on Corrie and April on Emmerdale.”
