Alexandra Mardell of Coronation Street “ugly cried” after filming her final scenes for the ITV soap.
Alexandra, who plays Emma Brooker, is leaving the show soon after four years in the role, and she admits that filming her final scenes on the show was very emotional for her.
Alexandra confirmed her final scenes as Emma on social media, thanking the cast and crew for making her time on the show the “best time of her life.”
She posted a photo of the infamous Corrie sign, thanking the show’s viewers, family members, and friends.
“And that’s it for the nicest street in the world!” she posted on Instagram. Of course, as soon as the scenario ended, I burst out laughing. All the love has overwhelmed me. Corrie’s family is really nuts.
“I adore you all and can’t thank you enough, to everyone in that building, every viewer, family member, and friend!” It’s been the best moment of my life,” I’ve said many times before, and I’ll say it again.
“But for now, Emma Brooker and I are saying our goodbyes to the cobbles,” she said.
During her exit from Corrie, her co-stars took to social media to post nice notes for her.
“Ali, you’ll be greatly missed! xx, you are a shining light.” “Gonna miss you Ali but good luck I’m sure you’re going to smash it xx,” said Maria’s co-star Samia Longchambon, while Kirk’s co-star Andy Whyment tweeted.
“Love this and you but don’t get why you haven’t put my pics,” Jenny Connor’s co-star Sally Ann Matthews wrote, while Curtis’ ex-lover Sam Retford wrote: “So glad to have shared a part of your journey, excited to see what’s next.”
Ruxandra Porojnicu, who portrayed Tyrone Dobbs’ love interest Alina Pop in the ITV serial, also gave her best wishes. Kate Ford (Tracy Barlow), Elle Mulvaney (Amy Barlow), and Georgia Taylor (Toyah Battersby) also left hearts on her post.
“Welcome to the other sideeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee You’ll be amazing, and I can’t wait to meet you!” she revealed.
Alexandra praised playing Emma as “the best experience of her life” in a prior interview.
