Corrie’s Alex Bain quits social media with heartbreaking post after fiancée ‘split’

After allegations that he had called off his engagement, Alex Bain, a star of Coronation Street, stopped using social media.

The long-running ITV soap’s Simon Barlow, played by the 21-year-old, dated his ex-fiance Mollie a Lockwood for three years.

But recently, just six months after getting engaged on their second anniversary, the couple appears to have called it quits.

Alex has removed all references to his fiancée from his Instagram profile after the tragic reports surfaced.

Also, he said on his Instagram Story that he is giving up social media in order to “heal.”

He declared: “I will be taking a hiatus from all forms of social media due to recent personal life circumstances.

I’m confident everyone can relate. I will still be around, but due to a large number of comments on the most recent articles as well as many other personal factors, I will be taking a break to focus on my own well-being and healing.

I shall be significantly gone for a time, unless it is really necessary for me to be here.

Remember everyone, he said, “remember to be kind to those around you. Behind the surface, nobody is aware of everyone else’s hardships.

“And to those who have personally messaged me: I have seen them and I sincerely appreciate your support.”

He simply used a red love emoji to sign off his tearful post.

After his claimed breakup with Mollie, a source told The Sun: “They’re sad the relationship didn’t work out, but they’re both so young it’s hard to make such a large commitment at such a young age.

“Their friends have come together to help them and keep them occupied. Simon is engrossed in the soap opera, the plotlines, and his character.

Before the actor proposed to Mollie during a romantic night out in Chester last year to commemorate their two-year anniversary, Alex and Mollie dated for three years.

In a recent interview with OK! Magazine, Alex and Mollie discussed their relationship, including how they met and a touching revelation from the actor about his fiancée.

When they appeared in an acting part together later that day, Alex remarked that he “couldn’t take his eyes off her.” The couple first met while Mollie was attending an audition for a performing arts college in the North West.
