Corrie viewers baffled over Leo exit ‘blunder’ as he ‘forgets’ reason for Canada move

After Leo Thompkins made a strange remark on Friday, viewers of Coronation Street couldn’t help but wonder why he chose to relocate to Canada.

When the character just claimed he had been offered the job of a lifetime in Canada, it crushed partner Jenny Connor.

He urged Jenny to move there with him as he was about to do so, but she refused, stating that her life was in Weatherfield and that it would never work.

Leo had not yet learned that Jenny ended up getting wasted and kissing Stephen Reid.

Leo continued to pursue Jenny since he was still in love with her, pleading with her to move to Canada before popping the question.

Jenny recognized what she desired and accepted Leo’s offer to move with them.

The decision was made after the civil engineer mentioned a fantastic employment offer he was considering since he felt it was too excellent to pass up.

Viewers were therefore highly perplexed when Leo later started to indicate that he was searching for work, given that this was his original motivation for traveling.

No date was specified, but before he and Jenny left, Sarah Platt and her uncle Stephen came up to Leo.

Although Stephen was trying to keep his recent kiss with Jenny from Leo, it was obvious that he was up to something.

Sarah reported: “With all of your connections, you’ll be able to assist them. Stephen therefore owns factories, all of which I assume must use building.”

Leo replied to Stephen by saying: “I’d love to pick your brain, that’s wonderful. How can I reach you?”

Later, speaking about Stephen, he told Jenny: “He may be able to assist us. He will have a ton of contacts to help him find work.”

However, viewers were perplexed since they believed Leo was going to land his ideal job.

A follower tweeted: “Leo claimed that Stephen could aid in “getting work.” Thought he was lined up for the career-defining job?”

Another concurred: “Leo wasn’t traveling to Canada for employment, was he? He is asking Stephen why.”
