Corrie spoilers: David and Shona split in shock twist as she returns to Cobbles

Next week, when Julia Goulding makes her way back to the Cobbles, David and Shona Platt of Coronation Street are expected to split up in shocking scenes.

Following Shona’s departure, things were difficult for David and Max since the kid was charged with involvement in a far-right extremist group. After entering a guilty plea at his hearing in connection with the horrific stabbing attack on the soap opera last month, Max will finally get his sentence and be detained in a juvenile detention center next week.

Max was involved in what had transpired because knifeman Blake, who had live-streamed the attack on social media, informed authorities that Max’s propaganda videos had encouraged him to go on a stabbing rampage.

When David learns that Max was attacked inside the building the following week, he is in a difficult situation. He turns to drink for solace and goes to Victoria Garden by himself to reflect on how things ended up this way.

Maria understands David’s emotions, but she tells him to go home when he leans in and tries to kiss her. Shona surprises David in the restaurant as he is on his way to see Alya.

She gives him the reassurance that she would always be there and that they can now tackle everything together.

Gary rushes to give David a piece of his mind, but things change when Maria informs him about David’s attempt to kiss her. Shona rushes out of the Rover after finding David and she is humiliated by what has transpired.

David apologizes to Gary, claiming he was intoxicated and that he is very sorry for what occurred. Shona informs David that she is leaving him when he gets home. Will they be able to work out their differences, or is this the end for the couple?

Shona’s departure from the Cobbles as another one of Stephen’s victims had been predicted by several followers. Actor Jack P. Shepherd, who played David, at the time affirmed that Shona’s departure had nothing to do with a malevolent motive.

“She won’t [be Stephen’s next victim], I assure you. It’s not at all dramatic. I can tell you that she departs for London to take care of Lily. She requires a chaperone because she is participating in a football event in London “He informed the press.

“She promises to leave and departs on maternity leave. Shona was photographed the last time Julia had maternity leave! So the question was, “What are we going to do?” Will she leave David, and are we going to repeat that? But it won’t be unique; it will be typical.”
