Corrie icon urged to return to the soap after he bumps into Alan Halsall at airport

Following his encounter with another soap actor at Paphos Airport in Cyprus, fans of the long-running series are asking for the return of a Corrie classic.

Kevin Kennedy, who notably portrayed Curly Watts on the show for 20 years, and Alan Halsall, who portrays Tyrone Dobbs, had a surprising reunion when they were both on vacation on the Mediterranean island.

Additionally, fans urged Kevin to return to the serial he previously left in 2003 after seeing a photo of the two together on Facebook.

He and Alan both smiled broadly for the camera, according to the media, and Kevin said on Facebook, “Amazing who you meet late at night at Paphos Airport.”

Alan shared the same photo with Kevin on Instagram while on vacation in Cyprus with his brother Ste and their families.

“I ran across this amazing legend @MrKevKennedy,” he said. It was apparent that he was making an inside joke when he said: “Thanks for the goodbye.” He continued: “So wonderful to see you mate.”

Fans frequently want Curly’s return because he is still one of the soap opera’s most beloved characters. Many celebrities, like Sally Ann Matthews as Jenny Bradley, Sue Devaney as Debbie Webster, and most recently Martin Hancock as Spider Nugent, have made triumphant comebacks to the program in recent years.

Kevin’s friends and supporters seized the opportunity presented by the photo to once again demand Curly Watts’ return to Corrie. One praised: “What more proof do you require, Curly lad? You’re needed on the street, right? “.

Brilliant reunion, said one person, while several friends remarked that it was a sign. “I wish they will bring back Curly Watts and Martin Platt,” Martin Duggan said in response.

Wythenshawe-born In 1983, Kevin debuted in Weatherfield as the unlucky-in-love Norman Arthur “Curly” Watts.

The character was known for being a fan of astronomy and earned the position of assistant manager at Bettabuys supermarket. His cheeky nickname was a tribute to his impossibly straight hairstyle.

He was a part of several dramatic storylines during his 20 years on the soap, but his star-crossed romance with Sarah Lancashire’s Raquel, the bartender at Rovers Return, will live in infamy.

For the spin-off DVD special A Knights Tale, in which he reunited with Ken Morley as Reg Holdsworth, he last played Curly in 2010.

Since leaving Corrie, Kevin has pursued a highly praised career in musical theater, perhaps most known for his portrayal as Pop in We Will Rock You, which was performed in theaters all over the UK including in the West End. He is presently touring with the popular show Rock of Ages.
