Corrie fans ‘work out’ the truth of Stu’s horror past after Craig’s detective clue

After Stu Carpenter’s background was revealed to Yasmeen Nazir, Coronation Street viewers think they might have figured out what happened to him before he arrived on the cobbles.

Stu, who was just arrested for disturbing the peace, is frantically attempting to convince Yasmeen of his innocence after she discovered that he had served 27 years in prison for the murder of a lady with whom he had an affair.

Yasmeen didn’t want to hear Stu’s defense of his innocence since she had experienced abuse and was tortured by her ex-husband Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew).

Zeedan (Qasim Akhtar), Yasmeen’s grandson, has begun to look into Stu and believes he might be speaking the truth.

Zeedan is visited by Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) on Monday’s episode of the ITV soap opera after he asked him to look into the case.

When Zeedan learns from Craig that the detective who Stu is accusing of persecuting him retired early for a fictitious reason—after having an affair—he asks if he may look into it further.

Fans of Coronation Street conjectured on Twitter that Stu’s affair and the detective’s affair might be connected.

“Oh, so Stu was having an affair with the same female as Inspector Lennox,” said one fan. Lennox kills the young woman and accuses Stu.

Was he having an affair with the women who were killed, the second person wrote.

A third person asked: “Does anyone else believe that Detective Lennox, not Stu, had an affair with Charlie and killed her?

Another admirer wrote, “Stu obviously unfairly accused of murder but don’t worry because Craig will reopen the case and sort it out.”

This comes after viewers of the ITV soap opera Coronation Street think they predicted what may happen to Stu after he was arrested in dramatic scenes on Wednesday’s episode.

In the moments that were shown on Wednesday night, Yasmeen was noticeably upset when Stu arrived at her home. She then became frightened when he insisted on staying until she heard him out.

Yasmeen was unimpressed by the sincere plea and remained adamant that Stu must be responsible for the crime; she even likened him to the traumatizing events in her past that were brought on by Geoff.

Unbeknownst to Stu, a watch was observed dropping out of his pocket as Craig proceeded to arrest him. After Yasmeen instructed Zeedan to chuck the watch after she had taken Stu to the police station, many fans speculated that it might contain the key to Stu’s future.
