After Stu Carpenter was arrested in dramatic scenes on Wednesday’s episode of the ITV soap opera Coronation Street, fans think they know what could be in store for him.
After being released from the hospital and being detained for Charlie’s murder, Stu (Bill Fellows) went back to the cobbles with the intention of telling Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) about his background.
Yasmeen found out about Stu’s arrest for Charlie’s murder through his ex-wife Lucy, who thinks he killed her after learning the two were having an affair.
After his DNA was discovered all over the young woman, Stu eventually confessed to the crime, but he still maintains his innocence following a tragic unjust conviction.
In the moments that were shown on Wednesday night, Yasmeen was noticeably upset when Stu arrived at her home. She then became frightened when he insisted on staying until she heard him out.
Yasmeen, who was feeling unsteady, listened as Stu described how shady copper Detective Lennox pressured him into making a confession by taking advantage of the fact that he had become disoriented after leaving the Navy.
Yasmeen was unimpressed by the sincere plea and remained adamant that Stu must be responsible for the crime; she even likened him to the traumatizing events in her past that were brought on by Geoff.
Zeedan (Qasim Akhtar) and PC Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) stormed into the home when she covertly called for assistance, and they quickly arrested Stu for upsetting the peace.
Unbeknownst to Stu, a watch was seen slipping out of his pocket while the arrest was being made.
After Yasmeen instructed Zeedan to chuck the watch after she had taken Stu to the police station, many fans speculated that it might contain the key to Stu’s future.
After the emotional scenes aired, one fan speculated on Twitter: “I feel like the watch is etched or something,” implying that it might contain a crucial piece of information.
Someone else said, “DONT BIN THE WATCH!!! That very likely has the DNA proof clearing Stu. I don’t see any other reason to bring it up!
Don’t throw away his watch, a fellow ardent admirer pleaded.
Will Stu ever be able to prove his innocence to Yasmeen and Zeedan, who are sure that he is a murderer?
