In tonight’s episode of Coronation Street (August 21), when Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) was attacked while conducting a cocaine deal, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) continued to be unaware of her deeds.

Cassie informed Ty that she was going to the Citizens Advice Bureau to inquire about housing after moving in with him. Cassie assured him, however, that she was not leaving when he asked if she would stay for a few weeks and hoped she would remain.

But afterwards, we witnessed her having a meeting in an alley with the dealer Dean Turnbull. Cassie pleaded for more medications, saying he would soon receive what he was due. But when Dean became aggressive, a passing Cassie needed help, but Michael Bailey intervened because she was more concerned about getting caught taking narcotics.

Dean had hurt Cassie’s arm, so Michael drove her to the hospital. During their conversation, Cassie enquired about his small daughter Glory. Cassie argued that she was okay and that Michael should go to his daughter and leave her alone.

Ever the gentleman, though, Michael insisted on staying with Cassie and added that there was assistance available for those in Cassie’s circumstance because he believed she was in an abusive relationship. Michael was corrected by Cassie, but when Dean later reappeared, Michael was the victim of Dean’s punch.

Fortunately, Dean was attacked in front of Michael’s uncle Ronnie, who held Dean to the wall and insisted on contacting the police. Ronnie grudgingly sent Dean on his way when Cassie, who was terrified, adamantly stated that she didn’t want Dean reported.

When Tyrone inquired about Cassie’s whereabouts, he was displeased with his grandmother Evelyn’s (Maureen Lipman) treatment of her, but Michael revealed to Ronnie that his mother, nurse Aggie (Lorna Laidlaw), had experienced plenty of aggressiveness at the hospital herself.

Cassie came back to Tyrone’s with her arm in a cast and claimed she had sprained it after falling over while sprinting for a bus. Ty promised to let Evelyn know she was mistaken about Cassie in a caring manner.

Will Tyrone find out what Cassie has been up to, though, given that she is in danger and is out of her element?
