Coronation Street’s David and Shona split heartbreak after drunken Maria kiss

In heartbreaking scenes scheduled to air the following week, Coronation Street pair David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) split up.
David asks Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), who works at the STC and is aware of Max Turner’s (Paddy Beaver) situation, if he can find out how he is doing.
Later, Max is discovered by June, an STC officer, with facial wounds.
David answers a call from June in the Rovers telling him about Max’s attack.
As Maria Connor (Samia Longchambob) discovers David intoxicated and alone in Victoria Garden, she is empathetic, but when David leans in for a drunken kiss, Maria tells him to return home.
Shona walks into the café as David visits Alya Nazir (Sair Khan). David is reassured by Shona that they will now face anything together.
David tries to kiss Maria, and Maria informs Gary Windass (Mikey North) about it.
Shona is embarrassed when Gary discovers her with David in the Rovers, and she quickly leaves.
David admits to being intoxicated and expresses his apologies to Gary.
Shona informs David that she is leaving him when he gets home.
Over breakfast, a somber man David acknowledges that Shona has abandoned him to Gail Platt (Helen Worth).
Will Maria’s assurance that David’s inebriated pass was meaningless convince Shona to give him another chance?
Alya is questioned by Daniel about visiting Max behind bars.
Max describes to Alya how his life was a disaster throughout the visit.
David receives a call from Max asking if he will visit.
Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) listens as Alya reads the victim impact statement she has written for Blake Myers’ (Adam Little) sentencing hearing.
Alya is thanked by David for spending the time to see Max.
Later on in the week, Alya tells Maria and Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor) that Blake was given a 12-year sentence.
