Coronation Street theory: Double exit for beloved characters as steamy affair exposed

Ken, a fixture on Coronation Street, recently made the decision to reintegrate Wendy into his life.

The two discussed their past and the issues it brought up in Ken Barlow’s marriage to Deirdre Barlow.

Tracy McDonald still has issues with Wendy’s return and didn’t think her intentions were sincere as the two decided to move past the past.

As soon as word of the couple’s sensual relationship is revealed, according to official spoilers, they may decide to leave Weatherfield.

Ken and Wendy make the decision to practice their audition scene for a play they really want to be in in upcoming scenes.

At Ken’s house, where they decide to practice the scene, Tracy enters and is horrified to hear Wendy say, “Just as I love you.”

Tracy enters the room in a rage and yells at Wendy for canoodling with Ken, making it abundantly clear what she thinks of her.

Later, when they learn they have roles in the amateur dramatic play, Wendy and Mary Taylor (Patti Clare), Brian Packham (Peter Gunn), and Wendy are all delighted.

When they find out they didn’t make the cut, Ken and Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) are disappointed.

Ken may soon reflect on his friendship with Wendy and gauge how far their relationship has progressed.

Tracy’s outburst at Wendy may have caused Ken to realize that his feelings for his ex-girlfriend have returned and that he wants to pursue a relationship with her.

He is aware of his stepdaughter’s sharp tongue, though, and is aware that trouble would result if she learned of their continued liaison.

Tracy’s outburst at Wendy may have caused Ken to realize that his affections for his ex-girlfriend had returned and that he wants to pursue a relationship with her.

He is aware of his stepdaughter’s quick tongue, though, and is aware that trouble would result if she learned of their continued liaison.

Could this imply that in order for their relationship to succeed, the couple is about to leave the cobbles?

Or could Tracy’s scathing remarks to Wendy mean that they are forced to leave Weatherfield as a result of the town’s disapproval of their blossoming romance?

In 1989, Ken and Wendy started an illicit relationship behind Deidre’s back, which caused their marriage to fall apart.

Wendy remarried and left the cobblestones, but when she came back in 2012, she just couldn’t stay.

Wendy was devastated when Ken told her that he no longer wanted any contact with her, not even as friends.

However, as viewers are aware, the two got back in touch, and now, seven years after his wife passed away and leaving him alone, Ken is enjoying Wendy’s companionship.

Roberta, who plays Wendy, recently discussed her move back to the streets and the challenging connection she has with Ken’s stepdaughter.

Who knows what’s going to happen there, she told Digital Spy.

“Tracy isn’t going to allow Wendy get back into Ken’s life, is she?,” she said. One of those scenes with verbal sparring that Kate [Ford] and I did was fantastic.

“It will be interesting because there’s the slight complication of Tracy and Abi being friends, so that’s another aspect. We’ll have to wait and see how that develops.

Has Tracy permanently removed Wendy’s stepfather from her life as a result of her angry remarks to Wendy?

After all these years, will Wendy finally get what she wants?
