Former Coronation Street co-stars have reunited to celebrate KYM Marsh’s new stage role.
The 45-year-old actress left Corrie three years ago and is now starring in Fatal Attraction on stage.
Kym performed at a lavish press night at Manchester’s Opera House Theatre on Tuesday night, as part of her role as Alex Forrest, which requires her to undress.
A large gathering of her Coronation Street pals gathered in the audience to cheer her on.
Millie Gibson, Tina O’Brien, Antony Cotton, Julia Goulding, and Sair Khan, as well as Alexandra Mardel, Charlotte Jordan, and Sally Ann Mathews, all demonstrated their support for the cause.
On the red carpet, Alan Halsall and his girlfriend, former Corrie actress Tisha Merry, locked arms and smiled.
Kym announced her exit from Coronation Street in February 2019 after 13 years on the show.
In the ITV soap, the former Hear’Say actress played Michelle Connor, the former Rovers Return landlady.
“I could never in my wildest thoughts have imagined I’d be here 13 years later when I was lucky enough to be offered four episodes,” Kym stated at the time.
“It’s been a difficult decision, but I believe now is the perfect moment for me to pursue other opportunities.”
Since then, Kym has hosted BBC One’s Morning Live and For Love Or Money, a consumer show.
Her starring part in the Fatal Attraction stage tour was confirmed in November.
She expressed her excitement to fans, saying that Fatal Attraction has long been one of her “favorite” movies. In January, the curtain came down on Bolton.
NEW AND OLD FRIENDS
Kym thanked her new theater pals for supporting her on a painful occasion in a lengthy Instagram post last week.
Kym was only 21 weeks pregnant when she gave birth to her son Archie in February 2009. He died tragically moments after arriving, despite his greatest efforts to take a breath.
On the occasion, Kym took to Instagram to thank her Fatal Attraction co-stars for their unwavering support.
“Wow!” she exclaimed. You require assistance on days like this. I’ve had the honor and privilege of working with an incredible cast and crew on @fatalonstage for the past month.
“We have come together as the strongest of teams, and we are family even though we are away from our families on this extended tour.” Tonight’s outpouring of love and support has been incredible. I’ll never forget your unselfish love and support. Thank you so much for everything, especially tonight.”
“Thank you to each and every one of you for what you’ve done and for the love you’ve given my family and me,” she continued.
“A special thanks to Izzy for holding my hand so firmly backstage during my son’s birth minute!”
“From the beginning to the end of the week, there was a tremendous outpouring of support. I’ll never forget it, and I’m sure I’ve made some lifelong friends x.”
