“I just hope Nina remains quirky”
Coronation Street, Mollie Gallagher, who plays Mollie on Coronation Street, has spoken up about her future on the show and what she wants for her character in the long run.
TV Times quoted her as saying: “I’d be happy to stay as long as they want me on the cobblestones. I only hope Nina keeps her eccentricity. I’d like to see her succeed in her fashion design career. It’d be fantastic if someone said, “I like that outfit!” and the other person responded, “Oh, it’s Nina’s line!”
Nina is now in a downward spiral as a result of the loss of her lover, Seb Franklin, in a hate crime incident. “She generally understands how to cope with circumstances,” the actress continued, “but for the first time, she doesn’t know what to do.”
“I hope she can find happiness again, but it’s a difficult task.” I believe that if Seb hadn’t died, he and Nina would have been together for the rest of their lives. It’s difficult to imagine her with anybody else.”
“When I found out about the hate-crime scenario, I was apprehensive — this occurs in real life, so you feel a duty to get it right,” Mollie remarked. Also, I knew there would be some very emotional situations, and you worry about whether or not you’ll be in the zone.
“However, one of the most difficult sequences was when Nina removed her make-up. There were no words, yet getting it correctly was critical.”
