Coronation Street spoilers: Terrorist Griff returns and is seething with rage at Spider’s bombshell

Griff was a dreadful character on Coronation Street, and when he was jailed in January for his vile extremist ideas and his involvement in a number of violent plans, including the bomb left in the Speed Daal truck, we thought we had seen the last of him.

Spider Nugent (Martin Hancock), who worked tirelessly to bring the dangerous gang to prison, was ultimately responsible for Griff’s demise, but it was made clear to us at the time of his incarceration that Griff would be making a comeback and that his saga was far from done.

In upcoming episodes, Spider visits Griff in jail and makes him an offer. He claims that if Griff discloses the source of the gang’s funding, his sentence might be lowered.

Griff, who is desperate to be released from prison, informs him that Councillor Len Cameron was the mastermind behind the terror campaign (Mark Murphy).

Viewers have been aware of this relationship since the corrupt councillor’s support of the gang was made public in December. The genuine objective of the councillor, however, and the possibility that a man in a position of real authority might possess such deadly views, remained unknown to the citizens of Weatherfield.

That’s all about to change now that Spider is equipped with this new knowledge and can take action against him.
