In the wake of his niece Nina Lucas’s assault next week on Coronation Street, ROY Cropper hits boiling point.
Corey and his group of thugs assaulted the teenage goth and her boyfriend Seb, who are played by Mollie Gallagher and Harry Visinoni in the ITV soap, this week, and left them fighting for their lives in hospital.
The next week, Roy and Nina struggle to deal with her injuries as a result of the vicious attack.
When Roy discovers Nina packing her belongings in the hospital, she explains that she’s leaving because she wants to go back to the scene of the attack in order to jog her mind.
Roy persuades her to stay in the hospital.
When Evelyn arrives at the cafe after her train ride, she makes a snide remark about Kirk’s IQ.
Roy erupts in anger, comparing Evelyn’s attitude to the bigotry Nina has faced because of her beauty, and throws her out.
Roy later admits that he overreacted and that he is very concerned about Nina later in the week.
Evelyn expresses sympathy and apologizes once more for her rash conduct.
Iain MacLeod, the show’s executive producer, teased the horrific aftermath of Nina and Seb’s hate crime assault.
